The short version: we collect what we need to run the waitlist and talk to you about findout. We don't sell it, we don't run ads, and you can have it deleted any time.
What we collect
- Waitlist. Your email, the city you pick, your invite code, who invited you (if anyone), and when you signed up and confirmed.
- Curator applications. Your name, email, social handle if you give one, neighborhood, and the sample note you write.
- Venue applications. The venue's name, your name, email, neighborhood, type of place, and anything you tell us about it.
- Visits. Anonymous page-view counts through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies or build a profile of you.
Why we use it
- To confirm your email, hold your place in line, and credit you when friends join with your link.
- To tell you when findout opens in your city. The cities people ask for help us decide where to go next.
- To get back to you about a curator or venue application.
- To see how many people visit and sign up, so we know what's working.
Who helps us run it
A few services handle data for us, only to do their part:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the waitlist. Its Turnstile check looks at your browser and connection to tell people from bots when you submit a form.
- Resend sends our confirmation and welcome emails.
We don't share your information with venues, advertisers or anyone else without asking you first.
How long we keep it
Until findout has launched in your city and we no longer need it for the reasons above, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Your choices
Email hello@findout.city to see what we have about you, fix it, or delete it. We'll take care of it within 30 days. You can also ignore our emails: we only send a confirmation link, a welcome, and launch news.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If it's a big change, we'll email you first.
